The Assistant Dean of Investigation is the executive authority in scientific, technological and innovation areas at the University and the objective of this position is to institutionalize the investigation at the University through the definition of the policies, plans and mechanisms and instruments established to guarantee the continuation of these for the future.

Functions of the Assistant Dean of Investigation

Direction of the System of Investigation through the establishment of policies and criteria to promote and facilitate investigation with the consultancy of the Superior Council, the Head Dean and the Academic Council.
The elaboration of plans through medium and long terms to develop investigation and present them to the Superior and Academic Councils.

Assess the Superior Council, the Academic Council and the Head Dean in matters related to the polictic of investigation and innovation.
Assurance of permanent formation of investigators and of young people becoming investigators.
Fomenting the articulation of the investigation at the University with enterprise, the economic and societal areas in general.
Management of budget resources the University has for investigation and financial leverage from external sources.

Realization of the corresponding procedures for the evaluation and approval of the projects and the final report of the investigations with the support of the Network of Evaluators of the National System of Science and Technology.
Integration of the investigation with the Professors and their social projection.
Follow-ups, evaluation and control of quality on the results of the projects, the fulfilling of goals and forseen objectives, the adequate use of economic resources assigned to these projects, the appropriate use of physical, technological resources, material and raw material for the investigations and in general, the verifiable impact of the investigation.
Promotion of new groups and centers of interdiscipline, inter-Faculty investigation plus inter-institutional work.
Publication and divulgation through various media of the results of the investigative, scientific, technological projects as well as the development and innovation, social and human sciences and the diffusion of the benefits and impacts on the society.

The design and updating of a system of information with the portfolio of projects, the investigators, the groups, the centers, the institutes, the sources of financial support, the evaluators and in general, the inventory of resources for investigation.
Demonstrated management shown to the public and private, national and international areas through agreements and contracts for the exchange of professors-investigators, the execution of scientific events, the financial support of projects and the authorization on the part of these above-mentioned entities.
Presentation of an annual report on the state of investigation at the University.
