Abstract: The analysis of electronic micro sounding (EPMA) is a non-destructive technique of a very valuable elementary analysis in mineralogy and petrology, which allows the qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis of solid substances on micrometric scale. Its principle of operation consists of the excitation of the surface of the sample (previously polished) with a beam of electrons, accelerated between 15 and 35 keV and focused on a diameter that oscillates between 1 and 2 μm. The characteristic xrays generated in the sample are detected by spectrometers scatters of wavelength (WDS).

Resumen: El análisis de microsonda electrónica (EPMA) es una técnica no destructiva de análisis elemental muy valiosa en mineralogía y petrología, la cual permite el análisis químico cualitativo y cuantitativo de sustancias sólidas a escala micrométrica. Su principio de funcionamiento consiste en la excitación de la superficie de la muestra (previamente pulida) mediante un haz de electrones, acelerados entre 15 y 35 keV y focalizados en un diámetro que oscila entre 1 y 2 μm. Los rayos X característicos generados en la muestra son detectados por espectrómetros dispersores de longitud de onda (WDS).
