AN APPROACH OF STATE IDENTIFICATION IN AN UASB REACTOR

APROXIMACIÓN DE ESTIMACIÓN DE ESTADOS EN UN REACTOR UASB

Abstract: This paper shows the performance of an interval state observer on the dynamic model of an UASB reactor for leachate treatment. The identification pretends to generate intervals for the unmeasured system variables (biomass and substrate), through the Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA) measure at the input and output of the system. The proposed observer is able to make the identification; working in a suitable way with the uncertainness related with initial conditions of the state variables and input parameters of the system, without knowledge about the cell growth kinetics.

Resumen: En este artículo se presenta el desarrollo de un observador de estados basado en intervalos, sobre el modelo dinámico de un reactor UASB para el tratamiento de lixiviados. La estimación pretende generar intervalos para las variables no medidas del sistema (biomasa y sustrato), a partir de la medición de la concentración de ácidos grasos volátiles (AGV) a la entrada y a la salida del reactor. El observador propuesto es capaz de realizar la estimación, manejando adecuadamente las incertidumbres debidas a las
condiciones iniciales de las variables de estado y a los parámetros de entrada del sistema, sin el conocimiento de la cinética de crecimiento celular.
