APPROACHES AND DIRECTIVES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF FAULT DETECTION AND DIAGNOSIS SYSTEMS

Abstract: The decision of using the fault detection and diagnosis systems (FDDS) in the industry is based in the necessity of implanting a maintenance system that allows with security and effectiveness to improve permanently the results of the maintenance management. The Fault Detection and Diagnosis Systems are integral part of the automation systems in production units, reason that becomes necessary approaches criteria as limits for the design and installation of these systems. In this article, are defined some approaches and limits in order to design and installation of the Fault Detection and Diagnosis Systems (FDDS) in industrial processes. These approaches are based mainly on requirements of basic and detail engineering, and are applied to security and distributed control systems in industrial processes, being the focus of specific interest the combined Transmitter / Sensor.

Resumen: La decisión de utilizar los sistemas de detección y diagnóstico de fallas (SDDF) en la industria, esta basada en parte a la necesidad de implantar un sistema de mantenimiento que permita con seguridad y eficacia mejorar permanentemente los resultados de la gestión. Los Sistemas de Detección y Diagnóstico de Fallas son parte integral de los sistemas de automatización en unidades de producción, razón por la cual se hace necesario establecer criterios que sirvan de lineamientos para el diseño e implantación de estos sistemas.En este artículo se definen algunos criterios y lineamientos a seguir en el diseño e implantación de los Sistemas de Detección y Diagnóstico de Fallas (SDDF) en procesos industriales. Estos criterios se basan principalmente en requerimientos de ingeniería básica y de detalle para dicha implantación, y están aplicados a sistemas de seguridad y sistemas de control distribuido en procesos industriales, siendo el foco de interés específico el conjunto Transmisor/Sensor.
