FAULT DETECTION AND DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM DESIGN BASED ON EXHAUST GAS O2 INDEX CONTENT IN DIESEL MOTORS

Abstract: The fault detection and diagnosis systems are necessary for quality, reliability and durability improvement of industrial processes systems, as well as, medical, nutritious processes, among others. This work uses the advances of the fault detection and
diagnostic systems, to identify incipient and fault potentials in diesel motors, based on the exhaust oxygen measurement. The main objective is to evaluate and to diagnose possible fault in motor operation, alerting to the maintenance personnel. Likewise, the system gives a detailed report of the evaluation made to the motor.

Resumen: Los sistemas de detección y diagnóstico de fallas son necesarios para el incremento de la calidad, confiabilidad y durabilidad de los sistemas que conforman los procesos industriales, así como, procesos médicos, alimenticios, entre otros. Este trabajo utiliza los avances de los sistemas de detección y diagnóstico de fallas, para identificar fallas incipientes y potenciales en los motores diesel, basado en la medición de oxígeno (O2) en los gases de escape. El objetivo es evaluar y diagnosticar posibles fallas en el funcionamiento del motor, alertando con esto al personal de mantenimiento. Así mismo, el sistema suministra un informe detallado de la evaluación hecha al motor.
