SHAKING TABLE FOR UNIDIRECTIONAL SEISMIC SIMULATION

Abstract: This work has been achieved to identify design and construction requirements of seismic simulator to reproduce earthquake movements in structural building models. The closed loop control technology has been selected whit hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, proportional valves, linear potentiometers, and a data acquisition card with a personal computer as a central element of control. The LabView software has been used in implementation of PID algorithm.

Resumen: En este artículo se presentan los requisitos de diseño y construcción de un simulador sísmico destinado a la reproducción de movimientos telúricos sobre modelos de edificaciones, que permita a ingenieros, investigadores y diseñadores estructurales, predecir el comportamiento de una edificación real en condiciones de laboratorio. Para probar el sistema de control del simulador sísmico se utilizaron cilindros de accionamiento hidráulico y neumático, válvulas proporcionales, potenciómetros lineales, una tarjeta de adquisición de datos y una computadora como elemento central de control. Se empleó el paquete de programación LabView para la producción del software de control el cual consiste de un algoritmo PID para la compensación de errores.
