MONITORING SYSTEM TO DETECT THE MATURITY OF AGRO-INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS THROUGH OF AN ELECTRONIC NOSE.

Abstract: A low-cost system has been designed to detect different types of volatiles. The instrument was originally designed and built to work as a system of electronic nose to detect volatile compounds in agro-industrial products, such as the detection of the degree of maturity “Mores” and “Potatoes” in different times of concentration. The system is composed basically in a concentration chamber, a chamber sensor type gas sensors TGS and FIS, and a data acquisition system provided by a PIC 16F877 along with a complete software suite for pre-processing and Patterns recognition such as PCA and Artificial Neural Networks for proper classification of the samples.

Resumen: Un sistema de bajo coste ha sido diseñado para detectar diferentes tipos de volátiles. El instrumento inicialmente ha sido diseñado y construido para trabajar como un sistema de olfato electrónico para la detección de compuestos volátiles en productos agroindustriales; como es el caso de la detección del grado de madurez de Moras tipo “castilla” y Patatas tipo “pastusa” en diferentes tiempos de concentración. El equipo básicamente lo componen una cámara de concentración, una matriz de 6 sensores de gases de tipo TGS y FIS, y un sistema de adquisición de datos provisto por un PIC 16F877 junto con un completo software para el pre-procesado de datos y reconocimiento de patrones, tales como PCA y Redes Neuronales Artificiales para una correcta clasificación de las muestras.
