ENGINE PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE THRU OIL ANALISYS

MANTENIMIENTO PREDICTIVO DE MOTORES MEDIANTE ANALISIS DE ACEITE

Abstract: One of the most important tools to predict diesel engine failures in predictive maintenance is oil analysis because it provides a wealth of information used to diagnose symptoms such as internal engine wear and oil state. In present article we will describe some of the oil analysis methods and techniques actually most commonly used. There will be a special mention to rapid and inexpensive ones such as oil blot, dielectric constant, oil crepitation, and so on. Methods that from a practical and economical viewpoint must be used by workshop heads and maintenance staff. It will also refer to the engine symptoms that can be detected with different analysis and lay down guidelines for evaluation.

Resumen: En el mantenimiento predictivo de motores Diesel, una de las herramientas más importantes para predecir fallas la constituye el análisis del aceite, que suministra numerosa información que se puede utilizar como sintomatología para diagnosticar el desgaste interno del motor y el estado de su lubricante. En el presente trabajo se expondrán algunos de los diferentes métodos y técnicas de análisis del aceite que más se utilizan en la actualidad. Se hará especial mención de los métodos rápidos y de bajo costo tales como la mancha, la medición de la constante dieléctrica, la crepitación del aceite, etc. que desde el punto de vista práctico y económico es conveniente que sean utilizados por Jefes de Taller y personal de mantenimiento. Se hará además referencia a los síntomas del motor que se pueden detectar con los diferentes análisis y se fijarán pautas para su evaluación.
