FLOWS AND STABILITY ANALYSIS OF ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS WITH SIMULINK

Abstract: This paper presents an implementation of a simulation tool Matlab/Simulink, which allows power flow analysis and dynamic stability in electric power systems. It has been used Matlab/Simulink because the power flow studies and stability are not included in this software, this gives the analysis and design for use by students of engineering and expertise in the electrical area. The business software’s that have this tool are expensive and are focused on electric power networks of multiple nodes, making them inaccessible for teaching purposes.

Resumen: En este trabajo se presenta la implementación de una herramienta de simulación en Matlab/Simulink, la cual permite hacer análisis de flujos de potencia y estabilidad dinámica en los sistemas eléctricos de potencia. Se ha utilizado Matlab/Simulink debido a que los estudios de flujos de potencia y estabilidad no están incluidos en dicho software, con esto se aporta el análisis y diseño para ser utilizado por estudiantes de ingeniera y maestría en el área de eléctrica. Los “softwares” comerciales que cuentan con esta herramienta son costosos y están enfocados hacia redes eléctricas de potencia de múltiples nodos, lo cual los hace inaccesibles para fines didácticos.
