MULTIAGENT SYSTEMS APPLIED TO THE DISTRIBUTED SUPERVISION OF OIL PROCESS

SISTEMAS MULTIAGENTES APLICADOS A LA SUPERVISION DISTRIBUIDA DE PROCESOS DE PETROLEOS

Abstract: This paper presents a methodology for the design of an intelligent supervisory system that combines the principles of fuzzy logic, the Internal Model Control (IMC) architecture and the paradigm of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS). The methodology has been conceived to be applied in an intelligent supervisory system, specifically for two kinds of complex petroleum industrial processes: the gas -oil separation process and the oil-heating process. The supervision proposal takes into account the fact of using standard local supervisors schemes connected between themselves and to a global supervisor so that local objectives in each process can be met, thereby letting the global or social objective be obtained through the application of basic mechanism of communication and cooperation; where these objectives have been previously defined and structured in a hierarchical manner. The paper includes some computational simulations performed under MATLAB / SIMULINK and the results obtained show a good overall system performance.

Resumen: Este trabajo presenta una metodología de diseño de control supervisorio inteligente que combina los fundamentos de la lógica difusa, la arquitectura CMI (Control por modelo interno) y el paradigma de sistemas multiagentes (SMA). La metodología ha sido concebida para la implementación de un sistema supervisor inteligente en dos procesos industriales de alta complejidad: el proceso de separación de crudo y el proceso de calentamiento de crudo. La propues ta de supervisión parte del hecho de usar esquemas de supervisores locales estándares, interconectados entre sí y conectados a un sistema supervisor global; de tal manera que a través de la aplicación de mecanismos básicos de comunicación y cooperación se alcancen los objetivos locales en cada proceso; y que permita a su vez alcanzar el objetivo global o social de los agentes; objetivos que han sido previamente definidos y jerarquizados. El trabajo contempla simulaciones computacionales hechas en MATLAB / SIMULINK y los resultados obtenidos demuestran la importancia y la versatilidad de la aplicación de la metodología propuesta.
