TELEDIAGNOSIS OF PARKINON’S DISEASE USING FUZZY CLASSIFIER

Abstract: We present a novel method for diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease by measuring of dysphonia. A fuzzy identification method is applied for discriminating healthy people from people with Parkinson’s disease. The main aim is to discriminate healthy people from those with Parkinson disease from a dataset what is composed of a range of biomedical voice measurements from 31 people, 23 with Parkinson's disease (PD). The overall correct classification performance is upper than 95%.

Resumen: En este artículo se presenta un novedoso método para el diagnóstico de la enfermedad de Parkinson a partir de una medida de disfonía. Se describe la aplicación de un algoritmo difuso de aproximación como clasificador para diferenciar entre pacientes saludables y pacientes con la enfermedad de Parkinson utilizando como entradas medidas de la voz del paciente que pueden ser adquiridas vía telefónica. Se presentan aplicaciones para el diagnóstico de la enfermedad de parkinson a partir de una base de datos que contiene 23 atributos relacionados con la medida de disfonía en los pacientes consultados, alcanzando una precisión superior al 95%.
