ARTIFICIAL VISION SYSTEM FOR THE RECOGNITION AND COUNTING OF COLONY FORMING UNITS (CFU)

Abstract: This paper presents an automatic system for the recognition and counting of colony forming units (CFU), the system use techniques of digital image processing. The procedure was developed for sanitary control of the high quality milk production process, and is characterized by low costs unlike those in the market, high performance and ease of use.

Resumen: Este artículo presenta un sistema automático para el reconocimeinto y conteo de unidades formadoras de colonia (UFC) utilizando técnicas de tratamiento digital de imágenes. El procedimiento se desarrollo para el control sanitario en el proceso de producción de leche de alta calidad y se caracteriza por su bajo cosos a diferencia de los existentes en el mercado, el alto rendimiento y facilidad de uso.
