KNOWLEDGE MODELING IN THE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: A APPROACH TO THE DECISION MAKING

MODELADO DE CONOCIMIENTO EN LA ASISTENCIA MÉDICA: UNA APROXIMACIÓN PARA LA TOMA DE DECISIONES

Abstract: Medical assistance is the process of medical intervention which is relational to attention the patient health care. This attention is based on three medical activities: diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. In decision making, these activities can be tackled from two approaches: decision and planning. Decision structures are designed to help physician in their task of taking extemporal decisions. Planning structures are designed to guide physicians in the time-dependant complex medical procedures. The goal of this article is to present a model that integrates several learning tools to develop decision and planning structures in the medical domain, specifically in the support of decision making.

Resumen: La asistencia médica es el proceso de intervención médica relacionada con la atención en el cuidado de la salud del paciente Ésta atención se basa en tres actividades médicas: diagnosis, tratamiento y prognosis. En la Toma de decisiones, estas actividades pueden ser abordadas desde dos aproximaciones: decisión y planificación. Las estructuras de decisión son diseñadas para ayudar a los médicos en sus tareas de toma de decisiones atemporales. Las estructuras de planificación son diseñadas para guiar a los médicos en los procedimientos complejos dependientes del tiempo. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar un modelo que integra diversas herramientas de aprendizaje para desarrollar estructuras de decisión y planificación en el dominio médico, específicamente en el soporte a la toma de decisiones.
