DIDACTIC PROTOTYPE FOR ANALOG AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS USING FPGA

Abstract: The evolution of communications systems has generated significant changes in
designs and implementation, form factor and power consumption reduction. The
programmable logic devices (PLDs) offer characteristics that meet the requirements such
as easily to programming, high speed of operation and parallel processing. This paper
introduces the PLDs like a tool for the development of design and projects in analog
communications, digital electronics and signal processing that allow to modify parameters
and to assimilate the concepts of analog modulation in a nice way.

Resumen: La evolución de los sistemas de comunicaciones ha generado cambios
significativos en los diseños e implementaciones, reducción del factor de forma y de
consumo de potencia. Los dispositivos lógicos programables (PLDs) ofrecen
características que satisfacen estas exigencias como facilidad para programar, alta
velocidad de operación, minimización del número de dispositivos de conexión y
procesamiento en paralelo. Este artículo introduce a los PLDs como una herramienta para
el desarrollo de diseños y proyectos en comunicaciones análogas, electrónica digital y
procesamiento de señal que permita modificar parámetros y asimilar los conceptos de la
modulación análoga de una forma agradable.
