NEW BIOMECHANICAL SOLUTIONS FOR ADVANCED SURGICAL EQUIPMENT WITHIN THE FIELD OF ORTHOPEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY

NUEVAS SOLUCIONES BIOMECÁNICAS PARA EL INSTRUMENTAL QUIRÚRGICO AVANZADO EN EL CAMPO DE LA ORTOPEDIA Y TRAUMATOLOGÍA

Abstract: This project has a device fitted to the knee surgical technique mc2©, used by
surgeons for electronic measurement of the knee ligament tension in flexion and
extension during surgery for total knee replacement. The principal objective of this
project is based on creating new solutions for knee surgical instruments refocusing
current techniques, implementing electronic, control systems and mechanical systems
required on the surgical instruments used by surgeons working in the field of orthopedics
and traumatology.

Resumen: Este proyecto presenta un dispositivo adaptado a la técnica quirúrgica de la
rodilla mc2©, utilizado por los cirujanos para obtener la medida electrónica de la tensión
ligamentosa de la rodilla en flexión y extensión, durante la cirugía de reemplazo total de
rodilla (Total Knee Replacement). El objetivo principal de este proyecto se basa en la
creación de nuevas soluciones para el instrumental quirúrgico de rodilla dando un nuevo
enfoque a las técnicas actuales, implementando la electrónica, sistemas de control y
sistemas mecánicos necesarios sobre los instrumentales quirúrgicos que utilizan los
cirujanos que actúan en el campo de la ortopedia y traumatología.
