COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF HARMONIC DISTORTION IN POWER INVERTERS

ANÁLISIS COMPARATIVO DE LA DISTORSIÓN ARMÓNICA EN INVERSORES DE POTENCIA

Abstract: This paper compares the harmonic distortion contained in the wave of voltage
and current generated by full bridge inverters. The theoretical description explains the
full-bridge inverter topology and multilevel inverters topologies, giving greater emphasis
to the last two configurations and based on results of simulations performed in Matlab® to
present a comparison of the harmonic content and quality of power obtained. Particularly
to verify the advantages of using multilevel power inverters in applications where you
need to convert CD into a high quality AC power.

Resumen: En este artículo se compara la distorsión armónica contenida en la onda de
tensión y corriente generada por inversores tipo puente. La descripción teórica expone el
inversor tipo puente completo unipolar y dos topologías de inversores multinivel; dando
mayor énfasis a las dos últimas configuraciones y apoyándose en resultados de
simulaciones realizadas en Matlab® para presentar una comparación de los contenidos
armónicos y de la calidad de potencia obtenida. Todo con el fin verificar las ventajas del
uso de inversores de potencia multinivel en aplicaciones en donde se necesite convertir
CD en CA con una alta calidad de energía.
